Discovering a Desire
Hi, I'm Gina, founder of Eternal Soapourri.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I started crafting homemade soaps using essential oils for fragrance. Essential oils quickly became a desire; I wanted to understand their properties, how to use them for my well-being, and experience their fragrance. I was reminded that sweet aromas, incense, ointments, perfumes, and spices are biblically based. There's nothing more exciting as a Christian than knowing your desire aligns with the word of God. I embraced the desire and aligned Eternal Soapourri with Ezekiel 47:12 (NLT) which says:
Fruit trees of all kinds will grow along both sides of the river. The leaves of these trees will never turn brown and fall, and there will always be fruit on their branches. There will be a new crop every month, for they are watered by the river flowing from the Temple. The fruit will be for food and the leaves for healing.
The desire did not come from me but from within, and out of obedience Eternal (because the thought and desire didn’t come from me) Soapourri was birthed.
A Leap of Faith and a Calling to Uplift Others
After spending time in prayer and receiving heartfelt encouragement from my family, I took a leap of faith that led to an unexpected journey. This journey opened the door to opportunities I never envisioned, transforming my desire into a mission to encourage women, and others, facing situations that may feel hopeless - there is hope. I hold onto hope firmly and aspire to pass that hope along.
Biblical Inspiration and Natural Ingredients
The Bible is my inspiration. I begin my creative process acknowledging that it comes from God.
When people think of biblical scents, frankincense and myrrh often come to mind. However, the scriptures also reference a variety of other meaningful botanicals, such as cinnamon, myrtle, anise, and mint, among many others. These natural ingredients were cherished not only for their fragrance, but also for their healing properties, their use in anointing, and more.
With every product you experience from Eternal Soapourri, our hope is that the scents and fragrances inspired by God's creation in ages past will exhilarate, refresh, calm, and soothe your mind, body, and spirit.
