Eternal Soapourri began in a season of stillness.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I began exploring essential oils as part of caring for my own well-being. As I experienced their beautiful fragrances, I was reminded of the oils, spices, and fragrant offerings woven throughout Scripture—frankincense, myrrh, cinnamon, mint, and so many other natural gifts of creation.
I was drawn to know and understand more, and in that seeking, I found myself returning to Scripture with new eyes. What unfolded became a spiritual rediscovery—deepening my appreciation for the connection between faith, creation, and caring for the whole person.
Then came soapmaking.
It wasn't something I had dreamed of doing or carefully planned. The desire to make soap was placed within me by God, and I chose to follow where He was leading. Eternal Soapourri was birthed from that act of obedience.
What began with soap grew into something more.
I began to see the everyday act of caring for ourselves differently. Something as simple as cleansing our skin, breathing in a beautiful fragrance, or taking a few quiet moments for ourselves could become an invitation to slow down and be intentional about how we care for our mind, body, and soul.
That understanding continues to shape Eternal Soapourri today.
